Therapies In The Workplace

- Help Improve Health and Wellbeing and Reduce Stress in the Workplace

Therapies United has successfully worked with over 50 companies and public bodies throughout Scotland to help improve health and wellbeing in the workplace and reduce employee stress.

  • We specialise in organising therapy tasters for the workplace or conferences, interactive workshops and talks on health and complementary therapies or relaxation group sessions to teach employees how to care for their own health.
  • We provide a simple, one stop shop to organise sessions in the workplace.
  • You have peace of mind knowing that the therapists have all been screened for insurance and credentials too.
"Just a note to thank you for organising the taster sessions at HealthScotland’s away day on Tuesday. Everything went very well and everyone was very impressed with the treatment they received from the therapists. Thanks again." S Penham, HealthScotland

A Cost Effective Investment

Health and well being in the workplace is a hot topic for organisations and over half a million people in the UK experiencing work-related stress at a level they believe is making them ill, (source: The Health and Safety Executive). In addition to the impact it has on the individual, there are the organisational issues to consider of long-term absence, the impact of reduced productivity on organisational goals and the financial impact - both for the organisation and the person affected by stress. The Health and Safety Executive is encouraging organisations to take proactive steps to reduce stress in the workplace

Although these sessions are primarily funded by the organisation, we can offer you support and advise to set single or regular sessions that encourage positive health and wellbeing practise in the workplace. Your organisation may also use our services to help you work towards an award from Scotland's Health at Work (SHAW) programme or other Health Initiatives run by the Scottish Executive.

Here are a few of the reasons why a healthy working environment can be of benefit to both the employee and employer

  • Increased performance levels
  • Better employee/manager relations
  • A lower staff turnover
  • Less sickness absence
  • Increased performance levels

Health at Work Options

Here are a list of ideas that you can consider introducing into your workplace:

  • Complementary Therapy Taster Sessions - We can help you organise taster sessions for staff to help them experience a wide range of complementary therapies suitable for the workplace. These sessions introduce staff to a professional and credible therapist. The sessions also help to give staff the opportunity to reduce stress levels onsite increasing the potential for them to participate.

  • Interactive Workshops - We can help you organise a therapist to visit your company or organisation to offer an interactive workshop to help them learn techniques and gain knowledge on how to improve their health and wellbeing.

  • Relaxation Sessions - We can help you organise regular or single sessions that allow opportunities to de-stress.

  • In-house Training We can help you arrange pecific training sessions which can contribute to staff's continous professional development and support their health and wellbeing.

  • Bespoke Sessions/Health Days - We can organise sessions for your employees or students' (in schools) health needs through sessions/ days designed to your specific needs of your organisation (eg staff conferences/inservice days) and particularly stressful times of the year (exams/end of the financial year!) Or we can provide a consultancy service to help organise a Health and Wellbeing Day/Programme or to advise on a 'Quiet Room' on work premises.
