Why You Would Join Therapies United...
You are a great therapist - ethically minded, wanting to help others yet knowing that you need to maintain/build your business if you wish to keep practising professionally. Therapies United is looking for professional and committed, self employed therapists to join the register. Here are some of the reasons why you may wish to join.
Benefits to You - Joining Therapies United
- Web Profile - Your full page web profile promotes you to a potential client - helping to promote your skills and experience. At a glance, they can see your specialist experience (eg working with cancer or pregnancy). Your photo helps them get to know you before they call.
- Promoting Specialist Skills - You have the opportunity to tell people about your specialist experience. Thousands of people who are linked to Maggie's Centre and Breast Cancer Care will be signposted to Therapies United looking for a therapist like you with your skills. Remember that family and friends, of someone diagnosed, also needs support too.
- Local Promotion - Our links with Maggie's Centres and Sick Kids Drop In Centre, allow us to place your details manually into each centre. Staff often use this version too when asked about complementary therapies. We keep this updated monthly to ensure that details are correct and therapists are fully insured.
- Free to Publish Articles - many of our therapists can choose to publish an article on an aspect of health or the complementary therapy they offer. It's a free and excellent way to make people aware, and help us educate clients about complementary therapies.
- Cost Effective - the registration fee works out at under £5/month and it's a very cost effective way to promote your skills.
- Access to Exclusive Opportunities- our Partner Organisations allows our therapists exclusive access to offer free therapy taster sessions onsite in their centres.
- Further Money-Saving Benefits - as a self employed therapist it can be quite isolating to work on your own. We encourage our members to offer each other discounts on treatments/training and we also negotiate discounts on services that you need to run your business - from print buying or website development to finding someone to fix your PC!
Commercial Marketing Opportunities
- Commercial Work - this is an additional part of the register. Therapists who 'sign up' for this are offered the opportunity to be kept informed of paid therapy taster sessions or workshops. Our reputation is growing with companies and schools. It's an excellent way to let people try your therapy as a taster and/or promote your business through workshops too.
It all sounds like a great experience but don't just take our word for it...
"I have been with Therapies United for over 2 years now, since it began really. For me it has been and still is a great resource. After completing a course on ' massage for people living with cancer', which was run by Gayle MacDonald, I have given talks to groups of women who have or have had breast cancer. Some of the women from these groups have gone on to be regular clients who have massage treatments at their homes or at the clinic where I work. I have had many contacts from the directory at the Maggies Centre, some are people with cancer and others are carers or family.
We have also had 'taster session' evenings at the Maggies centre itself which were a great success. This gave people who were maybe a bit unsure, about complementary therapies, a chance to come along and try things out. I think for someone with cancer or any kind of illness this is very important. I think Therapies United is a fantastic organisation and I have met many good friends and clients through them. D Taylor, therapist
And a comment from one of the people who attended one of our therapy taster session....
"Just a note to say thanks very much for the taster sessions at Maggie's last Wednesday. The evening was a great success - fantastic setting to experience some little known therapies - in my case cranial-sacral massage and shiatsu. It was also a great opportunity to meet some of the lovely folks who visit Maggies. Following the event, I have a Shiatsu session booked, and also have a coffee in the diary with a fellow Maggie's patient to look forward to." C Mitchell, client
