Our PartnersTherapies United is in partnership with a number of organisations in Scotland. Through this special partnership, we help them signpost clients, staff and volunteers towards discounted complementary therapies treatments to support their health and wellbeing. Some of our Partners have a manual version of the register in their centres so that clients can browse the details of the different therapists and therapies listed. Leaflets are also placed within their centres so that people can take information home about the register and browse online from their home or work computer. The various centres around Scotland can have up to 7500 clients a year of which almost 70% ask for advice about complementary therapies. Maggie's are careful about making recommendations regarding the well being of their clients therefore the register is a valued resource to them. "Having the free register - Therapies United - has been a huge help to Maggies Centre in Edinburgh. Not only does it help us signpost people to more information about complementary therapies, but we have peace of mind knowing that each therapist has had their credentials and insurance details checked. People affected by cancer are in a vulnerable and frightening position. The directory feature which highlights a therapist's experience of working with cancer is extremely useful. The directory is a valuable centre resource that is much appreciated by staff and the people who use the centre." A Anderson, Centre Head of Maggie's Centre Edinburgh Although each centre is based in a city, their catchment area matches that of the local hospital where people attend for support with their diagnosis and treatment. One of the benefits of the register is that the Therapies United therapists offer people from the Maggie's Centre (and their family/friends) a 10% discount on a treatment from the therapists who are listed on Therapies United.
