More about Therapies United

The register was established in 2005 at the request of the Maggie's Centre in Edinburgh.

Setting up Therapies United

Lorraine Murray, a qualified therapist and teacher of therapies is the 'founder' of Therapies United. She was asked to set up the register for the centre.

Although it initially started out to support the Maggies Centre, the register expanded and has become an ideal way for anyone to find a screened therapist for personal or corporate use.

The key to this register is that much effort and time is attributed to ensuring that each therapist is checked for credentials and insurance before they can join (insurance must be maintained to stay on the register).

Therapist Community

It became clear that the register also offered therapists a way to market themselves and become part of a therapist community. So we started to negotiate discounts on advertising, health fairs and other services therapists need to run their business.
